FOR Schools is a group of community supporters who are dedicated to the overall improvement and promotion of quality education in our local schools. The main focus at this time is listed in order of priority:
1.Safety, health, and cleanliness of the schools. Coordinate a volunteer program to promote the maintenance of the schools.
2.WASC accreditation of RVHS
3.Textbooks for students
4.Technology in the schools for students and teachers
5.Communication from school sites to parents

FORS Meeting at Riverview
This month's FORS meeting is next week.
We will meet at Riverview School in the Library on Wednesday, January 14th at 7:00 p.m.

Anyone else see the following on the RVHS homepage? I know some of you have "ins" at the River News Herald maybe you could find out why they have been unable to recognize the students academic accomplishments and help convince them to do so; or provide some reasoning to the school as to why they are unwilling?
"RVHS Administration has tried diligently to convince the River News Herald to print the first quarter honor roll. However, despite numerous communications, they have been unable to publish it. We hope to have the first semester honor roll printed when grades post at the end of January. However, if you'd like to see the first quarter honor roll, simply click on students at the top of this page and then click on the honor roll tab on the right. Our students performed amazingly well the first quarter and deserve the recognition!! Keep up the good work Rams!!"
Is that an out of date posting on the RVHS homepage? When you go to Students then click on Honor Roll the posted honor roll is for 2nd Semester of 2008. Did someone just forget to update the Honor Roll?
I am simply pleased that we are having a dialogue. I like a lot of what the anonymous person is saying and LOVE the fact that they are focusing on the POSITIVE. Our students so desperately need that. We all need that... I welcome anyone's comment, whomever they are. Julie ;D
